Showcase for the Alpstein region

The culture around the Alpstein is rich, manifold, and surprising. It combines tradition and customs with innovation and modernity. It is our aim to be a showcase for this culture with Haus Appenzell as well as initiator and promoter of various cultural promotional activities far away from home.

The Ernst Hohl Cultural Foundation Appenzell’s notion of "culture" includes the fine arts, music, and literature, but also craft, economy, tourism and sports. We want to merge traditional concepts with new and different ideas, live in the present and look to the future – always remembering our roots, our distinctive features: the authentic, the typical, the unique.
