The traditional New Year's concert at Haus Appenzell on 10 January 2019 heralded the start of the new year. The Rhine Valley musician Enrico Lenzin – among others known from "The greatest Swiss talents" – enthused the audience with a cool mix of traditional and modern music, peppered with loops and hot rhythms. He combined alphorn sounds with tap dance, let five-franc pieces roll, milk buckets sound, rubber pigs grunt and garnished the whole thing with techno beats and virtuoso drumming.
