To start the new year, we invited our audience on a musical journey through the folk music landscape from Eastern Switzerland to Eastern Europe. In an "Appenzeller Balkanstobete" the Appenzeller Echo met the accordionist Goran Kovačević – a change artist between styles, epochs and cultures. Together they spanned a musical arc from here to there, interwove klezmer with traditional string music, the tried and true with the experimental, from natural yodeling with taler swinging to jazz and free improvisations. The open and curious musicians stand for a lively and equally open folk music, which once again shows that music knows no borders!
